Preventing Computer from Internet Vermin (Virus and Spyware)
Let’s talk about virus and Anti-virus programs. A virus is a piece of code that is loaded in your computer without your knowledge. All types of virus is dangerous even a simple virus because it will use all the available memory to bring the system down. Even more dangerous are the types of virus that can transmit itself across networks by bypassing security systems. You can protect your system from viruses by installing an antivirus program. It will scan your hard drives for viruses and will fix or isolate any threats that it will find.
Sypware is software that gathers the user information through internet connection without the user’s knowledge. This is something that we all should be careful because it can also gather information about the user’s email address, passwords, and credit card numbers (scary). They gather information in your system using the system’s memory resources and eating bandwith as it sends information back to the spyware’s homepage using the user’s internet connection. And to avoid this issue, use an antispyware program. Antispyware is designed searches the hard drive for traces of known spyware and delete it once found.
· Keep your programs and operating system up-to-date.
· Always update the virus/spyware definitions to ensure that your system is protected against latest threats.
· Of course, install antivirus/antispyware program in your computer.
· Make sure that the files that you are downloading off the internet are spyware free.
· Normally viruses are transmitted using emails, so you have to make sure that you don’t open email attachment that was sent by someone you don’t know especially with the file that has “exe” file extension.

Browsing the net is sometimes really frustrating with all those ads popping up on the screen. So here’s some information that will help you solve this kind of issues. I’ve written down list of widely used program that will help prevent pop-up, pop-under, or other types of advertising on the net.
Microsoft Internet users:
For those who are using Internet Explorer 6.0, there’s a pop-up blocker included in the browser and all you have to do is to enable it. If you wish to enable to pop-up blocker, follow these steps.
1. Open Internet Explorer
2. Click Tools
3. Click Options
4. Click the Privacy tab
5. At the bottom of the Privacy tab you should have a Pop-up Blocker section. If you wish pop-ups to be blocked check the "Block pop-ups" option. You can also set additional settings such as disabling the sound when a pop-up is blocked or disable the information bar displayed when a pop-up is blocked by clicking the Settings button.
And for those who are using the earlier versions of internet explorer, here’s what you can try. You can use a google toolbar because it includes free pop-up blocker. Or, there are lots of third party software that you can use that can help you prevent pop-ups from occurring.
PanicWare Pop-up Stopper : http://www.panicware.com/
PopUp Cop: http://www.popupcop.com/
NoAds: http://www.southbaypc.com/NoAds

8. This should open the Firefox config window.
9. Right-click on a black portion of the window and click "New" and then "Integer"
10. For the preference name type "privacy.popups.disable_from_plugins" and click Ok.
11. For the value type "2"
Then locate the “privacy.popups.firstTime” option and its also in about:config screen and change the value of this to “false.
Netscape users:
Netscape 7.1 or higher has the pop-up blocker enabled already by default and you can access its settings by doing the following steps.

DELL's 24 inch Full HD Monitor
I was searching online when I saw this new monitor from dell. I can imagine myself playing or even watching movie on my computer with that monitor. I guess it’s really good. The LCD monitor that I’m talking about is the one offered by DELL. It has a high quality resolution which is a Full HD 1920x1080 resolution (woah!). It’s just that I’m amazed with it. It is good for gaming too because it has a fast response time and that is 5ms which is good for someone like me and not just for gaming it’s good for video editing too. I just wish that I can buy one of these monitor. I’ve been trying to save as much money as I can just to be able to but something like this and I hope I will be able to have this before the year ends.

Desktop or Notebook Computer...
Desktop or notebook computers?. Most of us has different type of needs that is why it choosing the right computer definitely depends on what your needs are. Let’s put it this way if you want to play games, then you shouldn’t purchase a DVD player. It’s as simple as that. But they are both computers? Yes, you are right about that. Well they have differences which will answer different needs. Let’s say for example if you are a business man and you will have to always have your computer by your side, definitely you won’t think of bringing a desktop with you because that will be completely ridiculous unless you are willing to carry the CPU/tower plus the monitor all by yourself. If you are a business man, a student, or someone who will need to always have a computer by your side, a notebook is the one for you. Desktop is a good home or office computer since you can easily customize it unlike laptop computers. They both can do the same thing it’s just that it depends on your needs. Laptops are quite expensive than desktops because of the parts used in building laptop. It a good thing that most of the computer manufacturers offers customized system and some of them gives you an option to customer your system yourself which will help you purchase a system that would fit your need like Dell computers.
